Pastor Billy Jermale Evans will serve as the city of Chicago's chief of faith engagement, Mayor Brandon Johnson announced in a news release Thursday. Evans was selected in 2015 to lead Englewood's Freedom Temple Church of God in Christ, which has grown under his leadership, according to the news release. “I’m proud to welcome Pastor Evans as our Chief of Faith Engagement and look forward to his partnership in strengthening communities and improving lives through faith-based outreach,” Johnson said in the news release.
