Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday announced the creation of a Casino Community Advisory Council tasked with ensuring neighborhood residents can give input as casino operator Bally’s and the city move forward with bringing a casino to Chicago, according to a news release from Lightfoot’s office. The 19-member advisory council, which includes community members and subject-matter experts, is set to meet quarterly until the casino opens. The city’s Department of Planning and Development, Department of Transportation, the Mayor’s Office of Community Engagement and the Chief Financial Officer’s office will share oversight of the advisory council.
