Mayor Brandon Johnson and Department of Family and Support Services Comm. Brandie Knazze announced a new $5 million allocation to an emergency fund that assists gender-based violence survivors on Tuesday. The Emergency Fund for Gender Based Violence Survivors, an American Rescue Plan Act-funded program that gives up to $1,000 to survivors of domestic abuse and other gender-based violence, now has $10 million allocated to it.
