Applications close on Friday for the Cook County Emergency Rental Assistance Program, which will tap $75 million from the American Rescue Plan to provide rental assistance grants stretching back as far as 18 months. Applicants must live in suburban Cook County, fall below an income threshold and demonstrate proof of a “hardship” related to the pandemic. Applications are available online.
