The Chicago Transit Board on Tuesday approved the CTA’s $1.8 billion operating budget for 2023. The approved spending plan keeps the transit authority’s fares at its current levels and “maintains the agency’s commitment to improving service and continues important investments to upgrade and modernize the system,” according to a news release from the CTA.
