Chicago Announcements May 9, 2022

Cook County Public Defender Sharone Mitchell will host a news conference at 10 a.m. at the Cook County building alongside Sen. Omar Aquino (D-Chicago), Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz (D-Glenview) and other county and nonprofit officials to promote the launch of the new Immigration Representation Unit in the Public Defender’s Office.  

The National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 11, the Chicago Federation of Labor, United Way of Metro Chicago and Visitation Pantry Englewood will host an event at 10 a.m. Monday to promote the Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, when “USPS Customers are asked to leave donations of non-perishable food items next to their mailboxes before the delivery of the mail,” according to an announcement. “Letter carriers collect the donations and distribute them to local food banks.”
