Groups including Moms United Against Violence & Incarceration, Chicago Community Bond Fund and the Chicago Torture Justice Center will host a “Free Our Moms Day” vigil and mutual support drive at 11 a.m. Saturday outside Cook County Jail to “demonstrate solidarity with the approximately 195 moms” who are detained there. “Advocates will call upon State’s Attorney Foxx and Governor Pritzker to release prisoners, as they have the power to do, through dismissed charges, re-sentencing and clemency,” according to an event description.
