Chicago Announcements June 14, 2023
Officials from Cook County and the city of Chicago on Tuesday announced both units of government are conducting the Lake Calumet Bike Network Study as a way to ensure walking and biking is safer and easier for residents of southern Cook County. The study is set to last one year as officials gather input from residents in the area to envision improvements that would make biking safer and more equitable in the Lake Calumet area, according to a news release. The study's area includes 34 square miles from 95th Street to Silbley Boulevard and from the Indiana state line to Michigan Avenue/Indiana Avenue. Those interested in providing feedback can do so via a survey or by using the interactive map.
