The Chicago Public Library announced that it will host author Clint Smith as the latest in the Voices for Justice speaker series, and in celebration of Juneteenth, to discuss his book “How the Word Is Passed: A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America.” The virtual event will be broadcast at 6 p.m. Thursday on the library system’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
