Mayor Lori Lightfoot appointed former Ald. Michael Scott (24), Sulema Medrano Novak and Paige Ponder as new members of the Chicago Board of Education. Novak is a trial lawyer and member of the city of Chicago’s Human Resource Board. And Ponder is the CEO of the group One Million Degrees. Scott replaces former Board member Dwayne Truss, whose term expired.
