On Tuesday, Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Housing announced the city had secured another $5 million for the 2024 Flood Assistance Repair Program, which helps homeowners that were impacted by severe flooding that hit primarily the West Side in July 2023. The city had already secured $172 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
