Applications are now open for people interested in joining the first nominated slate of the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA). Applications will be remain open until Feb. 7. A nominating committee, which is made up of one member from each of the 22 three-member Police District Councils, will review the applications received and select two finalists for each of the seven open positions. Mayor Brandon Johnson will choose the seven members from the finalists. The membership of the current CCPSA was appointed on an interim basis by former Mayor Lori Lightfoot in 2022. Applications can be found on the CCPSA website.
