The Cook County Department of Public Health announced late Wednesday that it will lift the mask and vaccination mandate in effect in suburban Cook County consistent with the state of Illinois on Feb. 28, but only on the conditions of “sustained improvement in hospital and ICU bed availability with decreased admissions for COVID, decreased case rates to a moderate level” and “decreased case positivity rate to a moderate level.”
