Chicago rideshare drivers celebrate the inclusion of $250,000 in the 2025 Chicago City budget to fund, multilingual, multimodal workers rights education outreach for drivers and other gig workers to prevent wage theft and unfair deactivation, access to labor right training.

A newly formed Division of Planning and Policy within the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), aims to lead long-range planning, policy, and engagement efforts at CDOT with an emphasis on projects and programs that integrate transportation modes, build partnerships with diverse stakeholders, and plan for current and future emerging issues.
