Mayor Brandon Johnson announced on Thursday the launch of the city's new Office of Re-entry, which will be led by Director Joseph Mapp. The office will be situated under the Mayor's Office of Community Safety and will support Chicagoans leaving incarceration or detention through various policies, programs and other resources. Mapp's experience includes having served as the reentry director at Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation and serving on the steering committee for the Illinois Coalition for Higher Education in Prison.
