Chicago Announcements April 12, 2022

The Chicago Department of Family and Support Services opened applications on Monday for One Summer Chicago, the city’s youth job program for Chicagoans age 16-24, which will be held from July 5 to Aug. 12. Participants will for the first time be paid $15 per hour, and the program now includes the “Chicagoability” job feeder program for teens age 14-16. Applications are available online.  

The Illinois Environmental Council will host an event at 5 p.m. Thursday to “discuss environmental issues affecting the southside of Chicago and the solutions they're working hard to put forth.” Panelists will include Ald. Sophia King (4), Sen. Robert Peters (D-Chicago), Rep. Kam Buckner (D-Chicago) and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Comm. Kim DuBuclet. Online registration is required.
