Chicago has extended its application deadline for its Emergency Rental Assistance Program to next Tuesday, June 15. Eligible applicants for rental assistance must have lost a job or experienced employment instability due to COVID-19 and be at risk of losing their housing without rental assistance. If an applicant meets those qualifications, the city will provide up to a year of unpaid rent and three months of future rent payments as grants. Landlords are also eligible for financial relief. Details and application instructions are available online.
