Mayor Brandon Johnson, the Federal Transit Administration and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) on Friday announced the finalization fo $1.9 billion in federal funding for the CTA Red Line Extension, which will extend the line from 95th Street to 130th Street. The mayor's office said the funding agreement represents the final step necessary to secure all of the funding to complete the $5.7 billion project, which will break ground next year.
